Dr. Terry W. Wunderlich, DVM

Dr. Terry
                                  Wunderlich Dr. Terry Wunderlich received his degree from Texas A&M in 1982 graduating Magna Cum Laude. Born in Brenham, he began working at Washington Animal Clinic in 1977 while an undergraduate, completed vet school and returned to the clinic as an associate in 1982.

Dr. Wunderlich and Dr. Buenger purchased the clinic in 1999. Dr. Wunderlich enjoys all aspects of a mixed animal practice. He welcomes challenging medical cases, finding the diagnosis and management of complex cases most rewarding. He and his wife Nancy maintain a substantial herd of crossbred and registered Santa Gertrudis cattle.

Dr. Wunderlich was named Rancher of the Year for Washington Country in 2010. He is active in the local Bluebonnet Area Veterinary Medical Association and Texas Veterinary Medical Association. He recently completed two terms on the TVMA Board of Directors and is actively involved on multiple TVMA committees. He and Nancy have 3 sons, Pete, Paul and Dayne, one daughter-in-law, Kris and two grandsons, Calvin & Nolan.

Dr. Bruce C. Buenger, DVM

Dr. Bruce C. Buenger, DVM Dr. Bruce Buenger graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. After two years in mixed practice in Columbus, Texas, he joined Washington Animal Clinic in 1984 and in April of 1999 became co-owner with Dr. Terry Wunderlich. Dr. Buenger was born in Industry, Texas and attended schools in the Bellville ISD. He graduated from Blinn College in Brenham and completed undergraduate work at Texas A&M. The majority of his care load involves equine patients including medicine, reproduction, lameness, dentistry and surgery.

Dr. Buenger is a former 4-H Gold Star recipient and remains involved in area youth development. He is a member of the Bluebonnet Area, Texas and the American Veterinary Medical Associations. Additionally he is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Society for Theriogenology.

He is married to Cheryl, his high school sweetheart and they have two sons, Jess and Justin. The family owns 4B Cattle Company, a commercial cow/calf operation designed to raise show cattle.

Dr. Peter Wunderlich, DVM

                                  Peter Wunderlich Dr. Peter Wunderlich, a Brenham native, joined Washington Animal Clinic as an associate in June of 2007. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M Veterinary School in May of 2007. Dr. Pete's professional focus is large animal medicine and surgery. He can usually be found working with bovine and small ruminant herd health, show animal medicine and surgery, reproductive procedures and challenging medicine and lameness cases.

He works with local whitetail deer breeders and actively volunteers with local 4-H programs, FFA and agricultural programs. He served as the veterinary intern for the 2007 San Antonio Livestock and Rodeo. Dr. Pete is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Association of Equine Practitioners, Academy of Rural Veterinarians and the Bluebonnet Area Veterinary Medical Association. He is active with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association where he serves on the Bovine Practice and Animal Welfare Committees.

He is married to Kris, a biology instructor at Blinn College. They have two sons, Calvin & Nolan.

Dr. Emily Rose Garrett, DVM

Dr. Emily Rose Garrett Dr. Emily Rose Garrett graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014. After living in England for 4 years, she accepted an equine internship at Retama Equine Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She grew up in League City, TX and attended Texas Tech University Health Science Center for her undergraduate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.

She enjoys large animal medicine/surgery, orthopedics, and lameness. Outside of work Dr. Garrett enjoys going to the gym, riding her horse, and hanging out with her best dog friends: Elbert and Eloise.
